Abstract

Several years ago, "If you allow me to speak" collected the testimony of Domitila Chungara who, with her simple and vital language, impacted international opinion, helping to reveal a reality that is unknown to most: the life of poor women in Latin America. Since then, many other women from our people have also raised their voices, drawing attention to their significant presence in the many efforts to build a just country and continent. Countless Domitilas have begun, in very different ways, a slow, difficult but tremendously vital process of breaking with a secular situation of double or triple oppression: for being women, for being indigenous and poor.
