Abstract

Approximately one kilometer northeast of the city of Puno is the ayllu of Llavini, which, together with those of Chhullunkiani, Chhulluni and Huerta, constitutes the partiality of Waraya. According to Bertonio, llawina means: "close, join the door without a key or with a key". Therefore, we believe that the current name of Llavini is a derivation of this word, since the inhabitants of the place, from parents to children, are in charge of carrying out the role of Sacristans, and therefore of opening and closing the doors of the parish church. of San Juan of the city of Puno.
