Abstract

The District of Sayllapata is located to the south of the Province of Paucartambo, Department of Cusco. It is a high ravine, at 3,400 meters above sea level, with a cold climate, with periodic rains in spring and intense frosts in winter; Its temperature varies according to the seasons of the year and the thermal average is 14 degrees centigrade. Hailstorms that cause the death of small domestic animals are notable; sometimes there are also persistent snowfalls. It is an agricultural and livestock region; As main products we find: potatoes of different varieties and on a smaller scale quinoa, geese, smooth, barley and cañihua. In livestock: cattle, pigs, sheep, etc.
