Abstract

In our opinion, the possibilities of economic, commercial and other types of complementarity between the western Amazon of Brazil (Acre, Rondônia and Amazonas) with the South-Peruvian (Inka, José Carlos Mariátegui and Arequipa regions) have as their starting point not the bureaucratic formalities of the chancelleries, but the realities, problems and purposes shared by the border communities, where, despite the international border, there is a history, economy and culture that are very close and, in some cases, common, in addition to the interpersonal relationships blood kinship, affinity, etc., which tend to be more and more growing and are responsible for consolidating such links.
