Abstract

To speak of youth in Sicuani is to evoke a large group of Andean boys and girls, inhabitants of a growing city with intense commercial activity. Sicuani constitutes the most important urban center between Cusco and Juliaca. Many of the young people in Sicuani are migrants. They have come here for the greater offer of study and work that this city offers. They enjoy a culture made up of Andean features in coexistence with elements of an official culture spread through radio, television, cinema and video that is reproduced in an expanding urban dynamic.
