Abstract

Very different women were involved in different ways in the wars of conquest of the sixteenth century. However, for the vast majority of them a radical change in their lives, whose dimensions are largely unknown until now. But the situation of women and the European invasion and the establishment of the colonial regime has already been approached from various perspectives. There are works that want to differentiate Spanish men and women, exempting women from the destructive role inherent in war and the imposition of the colonial regime.
