Abstract

The district of Santa Rosa de Ocopa belongs to the province of Concepción, in the Department of Junín. It is located on the left bank of the Mantaro River, at a height of 3,360 meters above sea level. Its climate is temperate and dry. It is a district of very old creation and within its boundaries is the Franciscan Convent of Santa Rosa. Like the other districts of the Mantaro Valley, it is closely related to the capital city of the department, which is Huancayo, the main center of political, administrative and commercial power in the region. From Huancayo, SRO is reached after a 45-minute drive along a paved road.
