Abstract
Transformations in the paternal role and their impact on family dynamics invite reflection on co-responsibility and the man's commitment in family life. For their part, Valeria Echandía Fisher and Valeria Moncada Rendón, in “The Relationship Between Attachment and Abandonment in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Literature Review,” synthesize scientific evidence that allows us to understand the consequences of abandonment and the importance of attachment bonds within the family for the proper and holistic development of children and adolescents. Finally, we conclude this issue with a book review by Caroline Melgar Carrasco, who invites us to read “Family and Old Age” by María Inés Passanante. The text reflects on the vulnerability and value of older adults in a society that prioritizes productivity and tends to exclude them. The author also highlights the need to recognize their dignity, wisdom, and active role in the community. We trust that the works that make up this volume will constitute a significant contribution to academic reflection, to the understanding of the family as a fundamental space for human and social development, as well as contribute to the prevention of different phenomena that affect families such as domestic violence, absence of fathers and abandonment of children in order to promote and strengthen a more humane, responsible culture committed to the dignity of the person.
