Abstract

The locus of control is an aspect, based on the social learning theory of Julian B. Rotter, which describes the capacity to attribute the causes of actions and results to external agents (destiny, luck, chance) or internal agents (capacity, potential, talent). This work includes a systematic review of the investigations carried out on the locus of control in military personnel from various institutions of the international armed forces, as well as the association or role that this variable played with other variables (emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, dental health, and others). The search included the databases of Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, World Wide Science and others, during which twenty articles were found regarding the type of locus of control presented by military personnel in international institutions.
