Abstract

From various origins, the testimony of those of us who participated in the origins of the social movement in Peru is requested. German, Italian, and Latin American scientists have a particular interest in the general life and work of José Carlos Mariátegui. Amauta's correspondence with Jauja during the years 1927 to 30 has remained unpublished, although I gave it to his children, his supporters and an Argentine writer during my stay in Cusco. It was the remembered Cuban statesman Juan Marinello who most urgently asked me for my testimony.
