Abstract

The basis of the celebration lies in the awareness that all things live, have a soul and, therefore, virtue or power: everything exists "as a character". Faced with this character, which can be propitious or adverse, the man adopts a certain alert attitude; that it consciously manifests itself in a studied, artificial way of behaving ("artificial" in its genuine sense of man-made, fabricated, not in the sense of insincere); therefore, this attitude differs from the ordinary and usual ways of being.
