Abstract

June 24 is the date well remembered by the peasants, not precisely because they know that it is their day, but because of the festival of San Juan, which they celebrate with various ceremonies. A popular custom influences so much that even the mistis celebrate the day of San Juan. On the eve of June 24, starting at 7 p.m., in each house they light bonfires where they burn only old rags, destroyed shoes, disused wooden tools, etc... which have been carefully stored during the year. .
