Abstract

The recommendations that follow derive their relevance and their justification from the mandate that has been entrusted to the Committee. This mandate is defined in the official text of the creation of the Committee by the UNESCO Executive Board at its 155th session (document 155 EX, decision 6.5). It is clearly specified that "the primary function of this Committee is to advise the Organization on the preparation and development of programs related to UNESCO's actions in the field of languages."
