Abstract

The illusions of development with its postulate of progress have reached the most remote peasant communities of the Sierra del Perú. In the Department of Puno, forty years of history of "development", expressed in policies and projects, have awakened in the peasants the expectation of knowing what has happened with this development. The Andean peasants became an object of study, especially from the seventies, when interest and curiosity was aroused in the circles of social scientists about this mass of indigenous people, their forms of insertion, integration and their role in the system. national economic.
