Abstract

Can a situation of conflict and violence be generated only by a selfish attitude? What factors underlie today in our society to maintain a situation of constant conflict that leads to violence? Finally, what does educating for peace imply today? The book Culture of Peace, published at the initiative of a group of educators led by R.P. Felipe Mac Gregor attempts to answer these questions by analyzing the factors that give rise to the conflict in our country, highlighting two possible solutions to this fact: a path of violence, which implies the use of force; and a peaceful option based on dialogue and solidarity.
