Abstract

All the societies and cultures of the world have established their sacred spaces and times in opposition to the profane that means the natural, the daily life of man. In this way it can be established that the sacred and the profane constitute two ways of being in the world, two existential situations assumed by man throughout his history. In this sense, one can speak of a homo-religiosus, different from the homo-quotidianus, for whom there is a sacred space and time, different from another space and time that are not consecrated and therefore without structure or consistency.
