Abstract

In several places, the religious world of the comunero of appreciating the land, the farm, the bofedal is losing a little. The modernization of the countryside, the schooling of the youth, the propaganda of the Protestant sects often entail a noticeable loss of Andean cultural values. In regions of strong modernizing influence we see that the payment to the land, the ch'allas, the carnivals "as they should be done", in short, all the rituals of production, decline, become folklore and tend to disappear. This loss of Andean religious values has been called the de-pachamamization of the countryside.
