About the Journal

Allpanchis (ISSN 0252-8835 e ISSN electrónico 2708-8960), an international academic journal founded in 1696 by the Institute of Andean Pastoral (Cusco), publishes articles in Spanish related to the Andean world from a multidisciplinary perspective every six months.

With the original name of Allpanchis Phuturinqa ("our land will give its fruit"), the magazine is currently edited by the Center for Peruvian Studies of the San Pablo Catholic University (Arequipa) and continues to be a space for the dissemination of original scientific studies and unpublished from the social sciences and humanities. Its special geographic emphasis is the Andean zone without excluding other American experiences.

Allpanchis publishes previously blinded peer-reviewed scholarly articles.

In this dossier, the reader will find several original works honoring and about Alejandro Ortiz Rescaniere and his work. It also includes documents, most of them previously unpublished, and some appearing for the first time in Spanish. The authors gathered here attempt to address some of what are perhaps the most prominent dimensions of his work; however, others are inevitably omitted (such as his interest in Amazonian ethnography, his dialogue with Spanish anthropology, or his critique of pseudo-racism).
